Note: Spoilers for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
Episode 3 ended with a major cliffhanger and introduced the initial group of adventurers who will separate from the main group to embark on their own adventure, apart from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table features Teor Pridesire (played by Travis Willingham), Thimble (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
With an extensive roster, it was clear from the outset that having everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
Hence, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Overture, connecting the individual narratives before dividing into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Planners, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
As described by the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who enjoy a classically intense combat and conflict-driven narrative style where diplomatic options are scarce.
Upon first impression, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander might look unsuited, but the developments of the latest installment show why these five characters are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the group knows exactly where to go next after a intense opening clash with the enemy group.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose death kicked off the narrative’s action—manipulated the enemy for his own means, entering Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting Thimble, and stealing all the magical artifacts to sell off.
Casimir then settled his debts and ran away to a fortified location in the northern region, beyond the city, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each adventurer has a personal reason to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the close ally and trusted friend, wants vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in the northern area and advises that it is a dangerous environment.
- The strong character and The cleric, having defied his house’s orders to eliminate the target and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their position as prominent individuals in House Halovar could assist the party reach areas they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character vowed a life debt to The savior for his salvation and will now go with him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are sought by the powers that rule Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making lingering locally too risky:
- The rogue and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and The healer defied the influential house and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- The target is wanted dead by the family.
This leaves them little choice but to head to the northern region in pursuit of the antagonist.
What’s Next?
Based on the latest episode’s follow-up content, we find out that the Soldiers table will be absent next week, leaving the other eight participants to round up the Seekers and Planners tables.
Audiences can look forward to discovering which adventurers will be in which group in the story’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on the upcoming Thursday.
